Chile has a long season for ice climbing. Yerba Loca near Santiago, 3000m, offers
routes between June and September with an access of 4h. You can climb all year
round at the Colgante del Morado, a hanging glaciar. The other three areas
listed are located in altitudes above 4000m and have ice nearly all the year.
They have hardly been visited and many lines still have to be opened. More
areas are under exploration. Recently, waterfalls around Punta Arenas have been
reported. More information is under preparation.
